“New Investment for CAD CAM software”

During a manufacturing review the team at NFP decided it was time for a new investment for a more up to date CAD CAM solution and promptly contacted several companies to arrange demonstrations.

We invited several companies to tender says Mr Paul Cosser who is NFP’s Works Director and together with our manufacturing and production team we carefully evaluated what every company had to offer and arrived at the decision to use Metamation.

“Open approach with looking at what our business requirements were”

We chose Metamation for several reasons predominantly for having a very open approach with looking at what our business requirements were and how they could help us rather than just jumping into a pre-defined sales pitch. The software demonstration far exceeded our expectations and easily handled all our requirements even presenting Metamation with some complex 3D files they demonstrated how quickly they can turn these files into tooled 2D parts ready for production says Iain Dallas CNC Programmer. The software had a wealth of options for supporting our Muratec punching machines along with good multitool options and a very extensive tooling library which gives us future options if we want to invest in other tooling technologies like wheel tools.

Our training was booked and commenced 3 weeks after the initial demonstration and we could not believe how easy and intuitive the software was to use and within a few hours we were competently navigating, drawing, tooling and making nests. We really liked Metamation’s approach to onsite training as they taught us how to use the software with our parts that we see on a daily basis and as the parts were produced we were able to validate everything on the machines was running well and Metamation were able to calibrate the software to match the actual cycle times our machines were producing too.
